We understand that recent news about nature disasters in Slovenia might have raised concerns about your upcoming visit to Kobarid and the Soca Valley. We want to assure you that the safety and well-being of our guests are of utmost importance to us.
While some parts of Slovenia have unfortunately been affected by recent nature disasters, we are pleased to inform you that Kobarid and the Soca Valley have not experienced significant issues. The western north side of Slovenia, including Kobarid, has been relatively unaffected and remains a safe destination for travelers.
Our local authorities are closely monitoring the situation, and the necessary precautions are being taken to ensure the safety of residents and visitors alike.
As of August 5th, we would like to inform you about the current road conditions and transportation options in the region.
Currently, there is a single road closure on the Tolmin – Idrija route at Dolenja Trebuša. However, most other roads are open and operational, some with single alternate lane traffic to facilitate smooth movement.
For alternative routes, we suggest considering the path via Nova Gorica, Italy (Cividale del Friuli), Bovec, and Kranjska Gora (Vršič pass). This route might provide a suitable option for your journey.
Please stay informed about the latest road conditions by visiting the official traffic information website: https://promet.si/en.
While train services are currently unavailable on August 5th, buses are accessible through Nova Gorica or Kranjska Gora, Bovec, offering alternative transportation options. Check the schedule for the buses: nomago.si.
Moreover, we are pleased to share that the weather forecast is showing signs of improvement in the coming days.
We hope this information helps you plan your visit to Kobarid and the Soca Valley.
Have a safe and delightful journey, and make the most of your time exploring this stunning region.
